At The Mediation Space LLP we believe that the more that participants are listened to and heard at the outset of their mediation, the more likely it is to be successful and this is reflected in our approach to fees

Our service is bespoke. A lot of important work is done at the initial stages in our two step intake meetings. The Mediator will see you individually for an hour long confidential meeting which will cover procedural and regulatory matters, looking at the factual aspects of your matter. Each participant is screened for safeguarding issues. You will then see our in-house psychotherapist for a separate hour long individual and confidential appointment, and she will talk with you about the more emotional aspects of your situation and the feelings which may impact on and affect the mediation process.
The Mediator and Psychotherapist then make their recommendations for what support is needed in your particular mediation. We think carefully about the most suitable arrangements for you.
Our approach to fees
We will always provide you with our hourly rate. You can be sent an illustration of the likely costs from intake to conclusion. The illustration is based upon the two stage MIAM, four joint mediation sessions and the mediator writing up an agreed proposal for you to take to your solicitors. This illustration shows likely costs of £3,000 per participant including VAT. Any solicitor’s costs, expert’s costs (such as Pension Reports) and our interaction with them are not included in this estimate.
If our recommendation or your request is for our Psychotherapist’s continued involvement in the mediation sessions or some of them, and / or Experts need to be instructed, then you will be given details of the additional costs this will incur.
We estimate for Child Inclusive Mediation separately.
Our costs are less than half of the costs generally incurred by a couple who instruct two solicitors to negotiate an out of court settlement on their behalf.
We participate in the government £500 voucher scheme for mediations involving child arrangements.
