How Our Model Works in 5 Steps

STEP 1, CONTACT US: at enquiries@themediationspace.co.uk or using our online form on the website www.themediationspace.co.uk. One of our experienced partners will discuss what you are looking for from us before sending you and your partner further information.

STEP 2, LET’S MEET: We will organise separate meetings with you and your partner. These conversations are with your allocated Mediation Space mediator and inhouse therapist. They will give you information about mediation and discuss any concerns that either of you may have. At these pre-mediation meetings, we will work together to consider what package of services best suit your joint needs. We will also be thinking about the support needed in order to progress your matter and the input required from our trained therapist.  Once everything has been agreed, we will put together an Agreement for those involved to sign at the first joint meeting.

STEP 3, WHAT’S THE PLAN: A joint meeting will take place with all those involved along with your mediator. An agenda will be set at this stage. The pace of the mediation and the discussions you wish to have are not set by a court or other professionals but by yourselves. We will cover what is important for you and your family.

STEP 4, YOUR PROCESS:  We will support you through your time with us, whether this is a series of mediation sessions with our expert mediators or co-ordinating reports and advice from Third Parties such as Pension advisors. In mediation, we will facilitate your conversations with each other and help you to work towards sustainable outcomes. Our inhouse therapist will be on hand to provide support as needed either during the sessions or at separate meetings.

STEP 5, WHERE DO YOU GET TO: When your sessions have come to an end, we will draw up a proposal setting out what issues have been resolved or we will provide an outcome letter to summarise your time with us. These can be made available to your legal advisors for advice, if needed. We will explain to you, at each step, what information can be shared and with whom. You may decide that further support is needed and we can assist you with extending your work with us or signposting you to other services if appropriate.
