Online Mediation

Many people find the convenience of on-line mediation outweighs any perceived disadvantages, particularly when they have caring responsibilities, demanding schedules, live far apart from each other or might find it difficult to be in the same room together.

Online Family Mediation Services

Provided some established safeguards are put in place then online mediation is very effective in our experience. The Agreement to Mediate, which is signed by all participants and sets the terms upon which mediation will proceed, includes safeguards to ensure that online mediation is a safe space for people to talk through and explore solutions to their issues. The participants and the Mediator commit to no recording taking place of the online sessions and to no third parties being in the room.

If there are third parties in the mediation, by agreement, then they also must sign the Agreement to Mediate. The expectation is that phones and tablets should be on silent and efforts made to avoid any interruption or disruption. It is important that the online mediation process is treated with the same degree of focus and commitment as an in-person mediation or other meeting which is part of a legal process. If the internet connection is unstable then the meeting should be rearranged.
