Who We Are

a Psychotherapeutically Informed Mediation service based in London and Oxford

  • We all have training and expertise in family law, mediation and – unusually – psychotherapy. Between us we have over ten decades of experience in different forms of family dispute resolution, which means that we are able to offer a truly specialist service.

  • Our relationships with each other are long established. We met as lawyers and soon realised that we share an interest in understanding how emotions impact on decision-making.

Why we Founded The Mediation Space

  • We know that the court process can be protracted and expensive. It can feel impersonal and adversarial. The rigid system can lead to frustration, stress and spiralling legal costs. Due to cuts in public funding and stretched resources, the family justice system is under ever-increasing strain.

  • The Mediation Space allows us to combine our skill sets and to offer a novel, less attritional approach to resolving family problems. Importantly, by providing space for discussion between parties our model gives greater joint control of the decision-making, the timeframes, the selection of the services you need and your privacy.

  • We are experienced at helping clients who are facing a wide range of family difficulties, from diverse backgrounds and ethnicities, and our process takes account of any cultural and religious expectations that are relevant to compromise.
