<image:caption>“The great advantage of mediation is that not only the obvious areas of difference but also the underlying causes of dispute can be addressed. Nowhere is this approach more important than in family disputes. I am delighted to see the creation of The Mediation Space LLP with their emphasis on therapeutic support, relationships and mediation. I am sure they will be a welcome addition to the options open to those who find themselves in the unfortunate position of needing help to resolve their disputes." — Jonathan Lloyd-Jones, Commercial Mediator, Distinguished Fellow of the International Academy of Mediators</image:caption>

<image:caption>Jackie has more than 30 years’ experience as a family law barrister. Her practice has focussed upon complex financial disputes following relationship breakdown and private law children disputes. She sits in the family court (including the financial remedies court) as a deputy district judge where she has gained a wealth of experience in encouraging parties to settle their dispute at an early stage in the court process. She was asked to be one of a group of specialist family judges designated to hear First Hearing Dispute Resolution appointments in private law children cases. Jackie has understanding and sympathy for the complex emotional issues that often underpin family disputes. Jackie qualified as a mediator with the London School of Mediation. She has a diploma in psychology at the Open University and a postgraduate diploma in psychodynamic psychotherapy at The Portman and Tavistock NHS Trust. <image:title>Rachel Chisholm - Rachel Chisholm</image:title>
<image:caption>Rachel has practised as a family law barrister since 2011, specialising in financial disputes and arrangements for children after parental separation. Rachel has extensive experience before the courts representing parents on issues such as the right term time and holiday arrangements for their children, disputes over school attendance and issues relating to international travel. Rachel has a particular interest and expertise in intractable contact disputes where arrangements between children and parents may have broken down completely. Her practice is grounded in years of working in complex child protection cases, which gives her a broad understanding of safeguarding issues and the court’s approach to allegations of risks of harm to children. Rachel advices on financial matters and has a decade of experience of representing separating couples in the Family Courts. She represents those involved in complex litigation over businesses, inheritance and international assets. Her combined expertise in finance and children proceedings ensures that she is able to see the case from each angle and keep in mind how one may impact the outcome of the other. Rachel is a Resolution-trained mediator. She is registered with the Family Mediation Council (URN: 1548T). She mediates on both financial and children-related matters. Rachel brings her knowledge of the court’s approach with her training as a psychotherapist to her practice as a mediator. She practices a compassionate but measured and incisive mediation approach designed to assist in reaching the right outcome for the mediation. Rachel has a Masters in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy from The Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust.
